  This brilliantly imagined re-creation of one of Billie Holiday's final performances features area musical star Denis Lee as one of the greatest jazz singers of all time, whose musical genius was never eclipsed by her tragic life.  You'll feel as if you're seeing the long-lost Billie up close and personal.

  April 13th (Sunday) - Contemporary Theatre of Dallas - Marvin's Room
                                                                                                                      by Scott McPherson

  This funny and deeply moving comedy/drama about modern life, death, and family ties, is the story of Bessie, whose role as her invalid father's caregiver is undercut by her own illness, leading to an uncomfortable reunion with her long-estranged sister Lee and a pair of difficult  nephews.

• June 15th (Sunday) - Contemporary Theatre of Dallas - Oldest Living Graduate
                                                                                                                      by Preston Jones
   

  This companion to last season's acclaimed Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander, is another chapter in the famed 1973 Texas Trilogy of comedy/dramas set in the small West Texas town of Bradleyville.  Irascible old Colonel  J. C. Kincaid, confined to a wheelchair and hating every  minute, lords it over the son and daughter-in-law he lives with.  An uneasy peace is maintained until old resentments and new ambitions come to a head as Floyd Kincaid launches a scheme to develop the parcel of lakeside land his father holds dear.  Just like Lu Ann, it's both funny and sad, a heady brew of the timeless, nostalgic and poignant.

  This masterpiece, by the greatest of Southern writers, pits male against female, genteel against animal, and sanity against delusion in the classic story of Blanche DuBois, who flees a scandalous past and her ancestral plantation to seek refuge with her sister, Stella, in sultry New Orleans.  But Blanche's feminine wiles are no match for the cunning and brutality of her brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski.
